Action shot of my rainbows, peacock gudgeons, and neons

This happens when you are gone for three weeks. I have a lot of cleaning up to do.

I just got home from my 3-week vacation and holy shit all my tank’s water levels are super low.

I haven’t checked if I lost anyone yet in my 75gal. My bettas and goldfish are alive so that’s good. :D

I’ll update soon!

Great response guys! Hopefully things will be alright. Most of my tanks don’t have a cover so hopefully I won’t lose too much water from evaporation during the 3 weeks I’m gone. I talked to my family members, who are looking after my tanks and other pets. Let’s hope nothing happens! Off to the West coast (California to be exact)!

I’ll still be posting old photos I took of my tanks and maybe some fish related things I will be doing during my trip!

I’m going on vacation for 3 weeks. And my family doesn’t know a thing about my fishes. I’m hoping it won’t become a disaster.

What do you guys do with your tank(s) when you’re on vacation?

20 gallon long betta project. I’m still in the process of adding more plants and rocks so that’s why it’s bare. Also they have a heater that is not shown in the images. It was taken out temporarily.

We got Patches on the left, Crimson in the middle, and Phantom on the right.

I went to the Petco by my work and they have amano and orange bee shrimps. The Petco by my house doesn’t even have shrimps.

I really need to start a shrimp tank again.

I have yet to figure out how I want to aquascape my betta tank. I’m going camping tomorrow so maybe I will be able to find diftwood or rocks that are suitable for the tank.

In other news, I think I have successfully resealed my 37gal tank that I have had laying around for a year or two. I’m going to let it sit for a few days with water to see if it leaks again or not. Although I have no plans for this tank yet. But if it leaks then i will divide it into two and turn it into a terrarium for my two crested geckos.

Summer projects are always fun!

Happy 4th to those living in the states!

This is my current betta tank project that will eventually house my three bettas

Sorry for the potato quality. He doesn’t like photos.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. I’ll post some updates on my tanks tomorrow when I do water changes.

Oh, I went to Petsmart today just to look around but I ended up walking out with 11 otos and I only paid $8.50. So it was a good day! :D

National Aquarium Australian Exhibit

I got a behind the scene look at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, MD.
That’s right there is a small section of their filtration system. They have a separate room for their biological filter, which only a select few employees are able to go in because they don’t want new bacteria entering their systems.
The room I was in are mostly pumps and the mechanical filtration. The mechanical filtration uses sand.
As for chemical filtration, they use ozone to kill off everything in the water. I think they said around 3-10% percent of the water goes through the chemical filtration.
